Q & A

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference with Vinyl wrap and PPF?

Vinly wrap is thinner than PPF, which is less protection on your cars paint. PPF is 8mm while most vinyls are around 3.5mm. PPF is also self healing to scratches and prevents stone chips from damaging your paint.

How long does vinyl last?

Cast vinyl brands such as 3M and Avery are durable for 5-7 years from the manufacturer, however the way you care for your car after it’s wrapped is more important than the manufacturers warranty. For example, no automatic car washes, no soap or wax with harsh chemicals, and wrap friendly soap is recommended as well.

Calendar films like TeckWrap, Vinyl Frog, TinyBot, Inozetek, a few more, last around 1-3 years depending on how you care for the wrap.

What is an inlay?

An inlay is a peice of vinly that is applied to deeply recessed areas to allow the vinly to not be overstretched into an area that will eventually peel back. Inlays ensure that your wrap will stay looking nicer for longer and are necessary for most bumpers and some trunks as well.

What do I do after my car is wrapped?

First 10 days of your car being wrapped you cannot go through any car wash. That is mandatory. Rain and wet weather is fine, but no direct pressure on the car. After the 10 day time period, only hand washing your car is recommended for once every 2 weeks using wrap friendly soap.
